Overlooking the Adriatic Sea, Torre Pedrera is a sun-drenched beach resort to the north-west of Rimini. It is named after an ancient tower that once monitored maritime activities and served as a defence post against invasions by the Ottomans and Saracens.
Spend your days relaxing on the wide strip of sand that extends the length of Torre Pedrera or get active while participating in a range of watersports. In addition to private beach clubs with sun loungers and umbrellas for rent, there are public areas available.
Some of the country’s most famous buildings are recreated on a tiny scale at Italia in Miniatura, including the Florence Cathedral, Rome’s Colosseum and Venice’s Grand Canal. Watch as medieval battles come to life in Rimini’s Castel Sismondo before getting up close to colourful parrots at Pappamondo. Also within the park is a log flume ride and a science centre featuring hands-on experiments.
Getting there
Torre Pedrera is around 10 minutes’ drive from Rimini and just over an hour from Bologna Guglielmo Marconi Airport, which has flights to destinations across the globe. Regular trains connect to the Rimini Torre Pedrera railway station and the town is small enough to explore on foot.
