A sense of indulgence fills the atmosphere of Solaire Resort and Casino, a huge entertainment complex that’s draped across the waters of Manila Bay. South of central Manila and west of Makati City, the resort includes a huge casino, pool and spa, over 800 guest rooms and a wide selection of restaurants and shops. Modelled on the casino resorts of Las Vegas, the complex has a 1740-seater theatre, a grand ballroom, two high-rising five-star hotels and one of the largest casinos in the Far East.
The 360 gaming tables are open throughout day and night, complementing over 1,500 slot machines. Neon lights flash, side rooms host high-stakes games and drinks are served directly to the tables. The entire resort is situated within a special economic zone, within what’s known as Entertainment City. This is all barely two kilometres west of Ninoy Aquino International Airport, the main aerial hub for the Manila area.
Solaire Resort and Casino is easily accessible from most major destinations in the Metro Manila area. Public transport from Downtown towards the airport will head along Manila Bay, passing the resort before reaching the terminal. Jeepneys and buses travel from Makati City and Quezon towards the airport and Manila Bay, where the mega complex is unmissable along the water.
Solaire is the first of its kind in the Philippines, and it's believed that the gambling license alone cost over a billion dollars. Fully operational since 2014, it's already hosted a number of cabaret shows in its theatre.
