Seopjikoji is a picturesque lookout where you can admire the unique volcanic coastline of Jeju Island. Grass-covered cliffs, cobalt-blue water and jet black rock formations give Seopjikoji a postcard-perfect feel. Holidaymakers flock to stroll along the beach, explore the coastal trails and snap photos of the lighthouse.
A trail winds across the cape and takes you to the foot of the lighthouse. Enjoy sweeping views over the rocky peninsula and the Korea Strait. In April, the grassy clifftops are carpeted with bright yellow canola flowers. The setting is beautiful, and you’ll understand why Seopjikoji has been used as a filming location for a variety of Korean TV dramas.
While you’re in the area, consider visiting nearby attractions like Jeju Folk Village, an open-air museum dotted with more than 100 buildings from the Joseon Dynasty. Just north of Seopjikoji is Seongsan Sunrise Peak, another scenic lookout accessed by a short hiking trail. The views are spectacular, particularly at sunrise and sunset.
