The tiny Norwegian town of Rena is a gateway to the forests, mountains and lakes of the Østerdalen Valley. Set at the junction of the Glomma and Rena rivers, the town is a starting point for some of the biggest mountain bike and ski races in Norway.
Local tour operators can help you arrange activities like camping, mountain biking, kayaking and other outdoor adventures. Hiking trails in the Julussdalen Valley take you past historic farms, centuries-old mills and flower-filled alpine meadows. Osensjøen Lake is just east of Rena and features beautiful sandy beaches. Enjoy a picnic on the foreshore and swim in the calm, clean water.
In the winter months, Rena Alpin and Ski Resort attracts snow sports enthusiasts from across Hedmark county. Cruise down the groomed slopes and test your skills in the terrain park. After a day on the mountain, warm up with a hot chocolate at the cosy resort café.
