Pioppi is a laid-back seaside village set in Cilento National Park. Beautiful beaches, historic charm and a flourishing food and wine scene make it one of the most popular resorts on the Tyrrhenian Sea. The main beach is a short stroll from the historic centre and protected by a rock wall. Sunbathe on the pebble sand and swim in the calm, crystalline water.
A waterfront promenade wraps around the bay and treats you to beautiful views over the Tyrrhenian Sea and distant hills. Stroll along the promenade at sunset and stop for dinner at an al fresco café. Enjoy local delicacies like fresh-caught fish, creamy buffalo mozzarella and sweet figs drizzled with balsamic vinegar. Save room for a scoop of Italian gelato.
Spend the day exploring Cilento National Park. Bask on gold-sand beaches, swim in sea-green lagoons and enjoy lunch in a postcard-perfect fishing village. Venture inland to explore hiking trails in the verdant mountains and forested foothills. Within the park are several ancient monuments, including the ancient Greek city of Paestum.
