With 13 kilometres of coastline to discover, Perros-Guirec is a beach lover’s paradise. Plage de Trestrignel is one of the most beautiful, with powder-white sand and turquoise water. The stretch of coast between Trestraou and Saint-Guirec beaches is studded with enormous pink granite rock formations. Some stand more than 20 metres tall and create a dramatic backdrop for swimming and sunbathing. A scenic coastal trail connects the two beaches and treats you to fantastic views of the rock formations and cliffs.
Head west to discover more sandy beaches, some of the most beautiful found around Trégastel. Pair your visit with a trip to see the ancient megalithic ruins and the postcard-perfect Grand Traouiro mill powered by tidal action.
Boat tours depart from the harbour and take you across to Sept-Îles, one of the top bird reserves in France. The archipelago is seven kilometres offshore and is home to more than 25 species, including puffins, penguins, gannets and crested cormorants. You can also spot seals basking on the rocks.
Getting around Perros-Guirec
Perros-Guirec is easy to get around on foot, though some of the beaches are best accessed by car or local bus. The town is located in the Côtes-d'Armor department in Brittany, a 1.5-hour drive from Brest and two hours from Rennes. Gare de Lannion Train Station is a 20-minute drive away.
