About Nabas

Occupying an elongated strip of land at the north-west tip of Panay Island, Nabas is a small town that serves as the gateway to Boracay. It’s backed by rugged mountains that feed its natural cold springs and harbour hidden caves before descending to the crystal clear waters and coral reefs of the Sibuyan Sea.

Things to do in Nabas

If you’re visiting in the hot, summer months, you can refresh at the Hurom-Hurom Cold Spring Resort, which is fed by spring waters flowing from the surrounding mountains. Kids will love splashing around in the shallow waters while adults can enjoy a leisurely float in an inner tube. You can rent a bamboo table or cottage for the day, with snacks and drinks available at the on-site store.

Interested in renewable energies? Don’t miss a visit to the Nabas Wind Farm, which comprises 25 gigantic wind turbines used to generate “green” power. It’s a steep climb to the farm’s fog-draped setting atop a mountain ridge but worth it for the opportunity to be close to these mighty feats of engineering.

A short boat ride from Nabas will take you to the popular holiday isle of Boracay, which has long lured in visitors for its palm-fringed stretch of sand at White Beach. You can learn to kitesurf at Bulabog Beach and soak up the island views from Mount Luho, then discover the marine life-filled coral reefs and shipwrecks that lie just offshore while scuba diving.
