Serving as a district capital, Mühldorf am Inn is a riverside town in the German state of Bavaria. It was the site of a 1322 battle between Salzburg and Bavaria, with King Louis of Wittelsbach coming out victorious. During World War II, Mühldorf am Inn hosted a concentration camp and was targeted by Allied air raids in an attempt to destroy Munich’s rail links.

In addition to paintings and sculptures, the museum also features a historic prison cell with an original wooden cot and iron shackles.
Hugging a small stream is Stadtwallpark, a picturesque green space with a children’s playground and leafy walking trails.
