Miliou is a sleepy village surrounded by leafy citrus orchards and olive groves. Home to just a handful of locals, it’s one of the smallest and most charming villages in Cyprus. The narrow streets are lined with traditional limestone houses set in flower-filled gardens. Join locals at the tavern for delicious Greek food and ouzo on ice. Visit on the right night and you can take part in Greek dancing lessons at the town hall.
Scenic walking and cycling trails start in Miliou and wind through the countryside. The area is a haven for nightingales, which you can see roosting in the trees. Visit the historic Agioi Anargyroi monastery to see swallows nesting in the eaves.
Learn about Cypriot history, culture and traditions at the Kouyiouka Mill. The café serves excellent Cypriot coffee and the freshest bread in the village. You can also stock up on locally made products like olive oil, honey and herbal teas.
