Nestled on the edge of Overton Park, Memphis Zoo is one of the top-ranked zoos in the United States and home to more than 3,500 animals. It features 19 exhibits that mimic the animals’ natural habitats, with trams offering guided tours around the park.
Get a taste of Yellowstone National Park at the Teton Trek, which replicates this iconic environment and is home to grizzly bears, river otters and timber wolves. View polar bears and sea lions underwater at the Northwest Passage exhibit or spot African elephants, giraffe and zebras on safari through the African Veldt.
The Memphis Zoo also features a Tropical Bird House where you can view exotic birds from around the globe and an aquarium home to red-bellied piranhas and electric eels. Want to see nocturnal species? Visit the Animals of the Night exhibit to observe bats, porcupines and aardvarks when they’re most active.

The Memphis Zoo is around 10 minutes’ drive from Memphis’ city centre and easily accessed by local buses. Memphis International Airport is a 20-minute drive away.
