Established in 1995, the St. Louis Kaplan Feldman Holocaust Museum preserves the legacy of World War II through poignant exhibits and oral histories. One of the most popular recreational destinations in Maryland Heights is Creve Coeur Lake, which was formed thousands of years ago along a loop of the Missouri River. Rent a canoe or paddleboard to explore the lake at your leisure or hit one of the surrounding trails on foot or by bicycle. In addition to four children’s playgrounds, the lakeside park boasts an 18-hole disc course and numerous picnic pavilions.
Restaurants, theatres and entertainment venues can be found in Westport Plaza, which originally opened in 1973. You can feast on Teppanyaki-style cuisine at the Kobe Steakhouse, catch an off-broadway show at the Westport Playhouse or settle in for drinks and live music at Backstreet Jazz & Blues. Getting around Maryland Heights
Maryland Heights is around 30 minutes’ drive from the centre of St. Louis and 10 minutes from St. Louis Lambert International Airport, which has flights to destinations across North America. Buses connect to Maryland Heights and travel throughout the suburb. Renting a car is the most convenient way of getting around the region.
