The Central Market of Casablanca is renowned as the finest in the city, immediately greeting visitors with the aromatic tones and local spices and herbs, while there are also plenty of eateries and cafes where you can settle down after a day of shopping.
One of Casablanca’s most popular spots is the Place Mohammed V, a vast square surrounded by historic buildings. Morocco’s largest mosque, Hassan II Mosque, is another of Casablanca’s most recognisable landmarks situated in Maarif known for its unique glass floor.
Getting around Maarif
You can travel like a local on a bus, although if you want to play it safe, then a taxi directly to your destination is your best bet. Maarif has a tram network, giving you plenty of options to get around. Mohammed V International Airport is the main international airport serving the city, and if you prefer to take public transport from the airport, then the ONCF train can whisk you into Casablanca straight from the airport’s train station.
