There are plenty of chances to make a splash in Lokken, including a local surf school where you can learn to ride Black Sea waves. Stroll down the beach and you’ll come across a series of World War II bunkers.
Cafes, restaurants and boutiques line the cobbled streets of the town centre. Enjoy lunch at an al fresco café overlooking the main square and stop by Lokken Brewery to try beer brewed with locally grown malt. You’ll also be lured into gift boutiques and independent galleries showcasing works by local artists. The atmosphere is lively and upbeat in the summer, with lots of markets, festivals and outdoor concerts to attend.
As you walk around the town, you’ll notice traditional fisherman’s houses painted in bright shades of yellow. Lokken Museum occupies a former sea captain’s house and features exhibits on the town’s rich maritime heritage.

Lokken is located in North Jutland, a 40-minute drive from Aalborg and five hours from Copenhagen. The town is pedestrian-friendly and easy to get around on foot, while rental cars offer the freedom to explore the North Jutland region at your own pace. Copenhagen Airport is a five-hour drive away.
