Things to do in Lezhë
Zogu I Boulevard, a bustling thoroughfare lined with shops, cafes and restaurants, is the beating heart of Lezhe. It’s the perfect place to enjoy coffee and a “byrek” filo pastry stuffed with cheese and spinach. Tree-lined paths skirt the banks of the Drin River and take you past leafy parks and green spaces. Rent a kayak or book a scenic boat cruise to explore the waterway from a different perspective.
Visit Lezhe Castle and enjoy panoramic views over the Adriatic Sea and surrounding mountains. The hilltop stronghold is built on the ruins of a Greek acropolis and showcases the city’s ancient past. As you explore the castle, you can make out the remains of imposing stone walls, gates and defensive towers. The oldest parts of the existing structure date back to the 8th century.
