Dhermi is a sun-drenched resort town fringed by white sand and crystalline water. Sunseekers arrive to bask on the beach, swim in the Ionian Sea and enjoy the holiday atmosphere. Boat tours take you to Pirate’s Cave, a hidden cavern carved into the cliffsides.
The lively beachfront district is dotted with cafes, bars and restaurants. Enjoy local dishes like “tavë kosi” lamb baked in yoghurt, “ferges” red pepper stew and “byrek” pastries stuffed with cheese and spinach. While Dhermi is relatively quiet after dark, nearby beaches like Palasë, Drymades and Jali offer vibrant nightlife. Dance the night away at an open-air beach club and enjoy sets by top international DJs.
The historic old town cascades down the cliffsides and will charm you with its stone streets and centuries-old buildings. The atmospheric Monastery of Panaya is perched high above the old town and commands spectacular views over the coast. Step inside to admire the ancient murals that decorate the walls of the monastery.
