Spend a day in the desert, where you’ll find opportunities for ATV off-roading, ultralight flying and mountain hiking. See it from a different angle on a hot-air balloon ride or cruise the skies in a vintage airplane or helicopter.
Lake Havasu State Park offers fishing, hiking, swimming and camping year-round. Several beaches rim the lake and you can take a pontoon boat ride or rent a kayak to reach remote coves. Head over to Cattail Cove Park to enjoy concerts at the outdoor amphitheatre.
Don’t miss seeing the original London Bridge, then visit the Lake Havasu Museum of History to learn about Native American and steamboat history in the area. Feel like learning a new sport? Give Frisbee golfing a try at Grand Island Disc Golf Course, which features nine holes in the centre of Lake Havasu.
Dozens of bars and lounges beckon at the end of the day, including BaBaLoo Lounge in the Central area, Hangar 24 Brewery and Grill on the north side of town and Desert Martini downtown, where you can sample wine and cocktail concoctions. You’ll also enjoy handcrafted beers, fish tacos and barbecue ribs at Mudshark Brewery.
Getting around Lake Havasu City
Several shuttle services operate in Lake Havasu City, as do taxis and rideshares. You can pick up a rental car in town or at Lake Havasu City Municipal Airport, about a 15-minute drive from the city centre.
