With an endless stretch of golden sand, swaying palm trees and irresistible surf, it’s easy to see why Kuta remains one of Bali’s most popular destinations. Known for its vibrant culture and non-stop nightlife, Kuta is brimming with fun-in-the-sun adventures.
Things to do in Kuta
Enjoy Bali’s year-round sunshine by spending an afternoon relaxing on the iconic Kuta Beach, renowned for its perfect rolling waves. Take a surfing lesson with a talented local or sit back and relax on a lounge chair. You can even get your hair braided and nails painted right on the beach.
For some water-based adventures away from the beach, head to Waterbom Park. You’ll find plenty of family-friendly fun, from adrenaline-pumping waterslides to lazy lagoons and tiny tot playgrounds. If it’s raining outside, entertain the kids at the Dream Museum Zone, a playground of 3D visual illusion artwork. Pack your camera and have loads of fun taking “trick” photos to share with your friends and family.
Ever wanted to release a baby turtle into the ocean? Animal lovers can visit Kuta between April and October and help the Bali Sea Turtle Society release olive ridley turtle hatchlings into the sea from the beach.
Taste Bali’s local cuisine over a candlelit dinner at Jimbaran Bay, popular for its seafood and romantic sunsets. Stroll along the beach and take your pick from the line-up of open-air restaurants where you can tuck into Jimbaran's famous coconut grilled prawns.
Getting around Kuta
The centre of Kuta is 10 minutes from Ngurah Rai International Airport, with plenty of metered taxis and shuttles buses available. Scooters are a common way to get around Kuta quickly. The nearby resorts of Legian, Seminyak and Tuban are all within walking distance.
