Things to do in Kuehlungsborn
If you like art and architecture, you’ll find plenty to interest you in Kühlungsborn. Visit the 13th-century St. Johannis Church and admire its Baroque stained-glass paintings, then climb up to the observation deck of the Grenzturm watchtower where German troops once watched the East-West border. Don’t miss the Kunsthalle art gallery, a lovely Art Nouveau building from 1900 that exhibits local and international artists.
Do you like to stay active? Practice your swing at Wittenbeck Golf Course, with its nine holes and magnificent views of the adjoining beech forests, then go for a ride on one of Reiterhof Böldt’s adorable horses or ponies. If you fancy a challenge, try the Kletterwald outdoor climbing center, where you can scramble along obstacle courses and zipline through the treetops.
Unwind from a day of sightseeing at one of Kühlungsborn’s many spas and saunas or reserve an aromatic massage. Relax with a glass of wine or scotch in Cubanze, located just off the promenade, or listen to a classical concert at the East and West concert gardens that also host puppet theatre and children’s discos.
