Kinneret is an ancient archaeological site set on the shores of the Sea of Galilee. The city dates back to the Iron Age and is mentioned in both the Old and New Testaments. The villages of Moshavat Kinneret and Kvutzat Kinneret are just south of the archaeological site and are great bases for visiting the ancient city.
In Moshavat Kinneret, the old stone hospital has been reimagined as a local history museum where you can learn about the rich heritage of the village. Nearby Kinneret Farm immerses you in life on a traditional Israeli ranch. Be sure to sample the delicious date honey that’s been produced on the farm since the early 1900s. Shaldag Beach is a short stroll from the village and is excellent for basking in the sun and cooling off in the Sea of Galilee.
