Hugging the southern tip of Taiwan, Kenting Village is the main tourist hub of Kenting National Park on the picturesque Hengchun Peninsula. It’s clustered with restaurants and street food stalls that ignite after dark and is surrounded by white sandy beaches and rugged mountain peaks that invite you to explore.
Spend a day discovering the sights of Kenting National Park, including the whitewashed Eluanbi Lighthouse and the modern sculpture that marks the southernmost point of Taiwan. Also nearby is Longpan Park, a scenic landscape of open grasslands that can be explored along a network of walking trails offering spectacular coastal views.
After the sun goes down, visit the two-kilometre-long Kenting Night Market, which is lined with stalls selling everything from clothes to food and creative cocktails. You can feast on barbecued meats, fried giant squid and grilled octopus tentacles, followed by sweet potato balls or Japanese-style pancakes filled with red bean paste.
