You can also visit Kenner's Heritage Park, which features a turn-of-the-century packing shed, a traditional blacksmith’s shop and a replica of the first Catholic church in Kenner, St. Mary’s.
Where the main thoroughfare of Williams Boulevard meets the Mississippi River is a waterfront park, which is dominated by a memorial marking the 17th-century landing of French explorer René-Robert Cavelier, Sieur de La Salle. Get a dose of Louisiana history as you stroll beneath the flags from countries around the globe, then watch the ships and tugboats on the river from the elevated viewpoint.
Getting around Kenner
Kenner is around 20 minutes’ drive from the centre of New Orleans while Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport is located within the city limits. Buses travel throughout Kenner and link to the surrounding suburbs. The Rivertown district is best explored on foot.
