The Katara Cultural Village offers a fascinating glimpse of Qatar's flourishing arts scene. The seaside development was built for the Doha Tribeca Film Festival in 2010 and has been hosting the event ever since. Inside you can discover dozens of unique attractions and performing arts venues, including the Katara Masjid, one of the world's most beautiful Turkish mosques.
The village is home to some of Doha's top galleries, where you can view works from local Qatari artists. Overlooking the sparkling Arabian Gulf, the open-air Katara Amphitheatre blends Islamic flair with classic Greek design. The Opera House hosts performances by the award-winning Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra.
Shop for unique souvenirs at the Katara Plaza Mall, a breezy complex where you'll find colourful shops and cafes. When you've had your fill of culture, relax on Katara Beach, a golden stretch of sand fringed by warm water. The beach also offers a wide variety of water sports and gondola rides.
