Renowned for the 1912 Steam Locomotive 2141, the Kamloops Heritage Railway departs from the banks of the South Thompson River. It takes passengers on a one-hour excursion through the rugged landscapes surrounding Kamloops in a fleet of beautifully restored heritage coaches.
It's "All Aboard!" at the historic former CN brick station (also known as The Keg) in downtown Kamloops with the legendary 2141 “Spirit of Kamloops”. You can learn more about how the train was brought back to life and the history of the railroad at the 150 Years of Steam in Canada Museum.
The Kamloops Heritage Railway also hosts special events throughout the year: Ghost Train, Beer n Blues Cruise, Sip n Steam Wine Train, Fireworks Special and the family-friendly Spirit of Christmas excursions. Visiting in the off-season? Join a guided tour through the historic train and sit in the engineer’s seat of the 2141 where you can take once-in-a-lifetime photos.
