In winter, Sun Peaks Resort lures snow sports enthusiasts in with its 135 runs, 12 lifts and ample powder. You can carve up the slopes, explore the Nordic skiing trails or perfect your moves in the four-hectare terrain park. The award-winning "ski-in ski-out" village also offers dog sledding, sleigh rides and snowshoeing.
Things don't slow down in the summer, when Sun Peaks transforms into an outdoor playground. The ski lifts at Sun Peaks Resort unlock access to over 20 world-class mountain bike trails and scenic alpine hiking routes. If you don't want to work up a sweat, ride to the summit of Tod Mountain on the Sunburst chairlift.
Set 1,200 metres above sea level, the Golf Course at Sun Peaks Resort dazzles players with panoramic mountain views. It's British Columbia's highest elevation course and features 18 challenging holes. Thrill-seekers can enjoy some of Canada's best white-water rafting on the Chilliwack River, which winds through the foothills of the Cascade Mountains and is studded with thrilling rapids.
Six kilometres from Sun Peaks, McGillivray Lake is a great place to rent a canoe and enjoy a scenic paddle. On a rainy day, you can indulge in a massage or facial treatment at one of the many day spas located in Sun Peaks Village.
Getting around Sun Peaks
Sun Peaks is easy to get around on foot, especially if you're staying in the village. During ski season the resort operates a shuttle service. Sun Peaks is 50 kilometres north-east of Kamloops and 400 kilometres from Vancouver.
