Things to do in Haifa
The German Colony is a great place for a stroll, with spacious tree-lined streets and leafy parks. The Arab-Christian quarter is brimming with bustling souqs and shisha cafes, while trendy Masada Street is known for its hip cafes and designer boutiques.
Haifa's most iconic site is Akko’s Shrine of Baha'u'llah. The domed shrine is set in lush tropical gardens that cascade down the slopes of Mount Carmel. It serves as the final resting place of Baha'u'llah, the almighty prophet of the Baha’i faith. You can stroll around the gardens and enjoy sweeping views of sparkling Haifa Bay.
Housed on the university campus, the Hecht Museum showcases a fascinating collection of archaeological finds from across Israel. The highlight is the enormous Ma'agan Mikhael Shipwreck, an ancient merchant vessel estimated to be around 2,500 years old. You can also admire Post-Impressionist works from the likes of Van Gogh and Modigliani.

Getting around Haifa
Buses are the easiest way to get around Haifa, as they run to most major sites and local beaches. The city is also well-serviced by local taxis. Allow one hour to drive to Tel Aviv and two hours to Jerusalem.
