The sandy city of Hadera is located on the Israeli Mediterranean Coastal Plain and is a stopping point on the Israel National Trail route. The city is packed with green spaces, educative museums and remote dunes perfect for 4x4 excursions.
Things to do in H̱adera
Technoda is one of Hadera's most prominent museums, home to multiple scientific exhibits. Suitable for young children, the museum offers a hands-on learning experience through the use of its planetarium and science park.
For some green space, head to Park Hadera Lake, home to Hadera Forest. This compact recreational heaven is within walking distance from the city centre and is the perfect spot for a picnic or to stretch the legs.
Shvil Hatapuzim is a family-orientated local amusement park located on a former citrus orchard. The park features water slides, climbing walls and go-carts. Should the weather take a turn, head to the “rain room” to enjoy indoor activities.
Just south of the city sits Ha Sharon Park, a five-kilometre-long natural area with rolling green hills and sand dunes. Take a guided 4WD ride across the dunes following the coastal trail paths that offer fantastic ocean views.
Getting around H̱adera
You can reach Hadera by train or plane from Sde Dov Airport, which is located one hour’s drive south. Once you’re in town, the best way to get around is by bus. You can also explore some of the city centre attractions on foot.
