The Guilin Liangjiang International Airport is located nearly 30 kilometres outside of the downtown area of Guilin in the Liangjiang Town of the Lingui District, encompassed by the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of China. This modern aviation hub transports more than six million people on an annual basis passing through its expansive 50,000 square metre terminal building.
The Guilin Airport offers a plethora of passenger services including a business centre, first class lounges, multiple restaurants highlighted by the popular Viojoy Restaurant, and shopping opportunities represented by the Xin Qi Te Retail Store and the Flower Shop. A large terminal building serves 20 gate positions as well as leisure services, banking services and a medical centre.
Shuttle buses connect the airport with various locations downtown, including the North Railway Station. Taxis abound, routing to the primary Guilin Railway, North Railway and Yangshuo West Street stations. Intercity buses serve connections from the airport to Hezhou, Yizhou, Liuzhou and Yangshuo.
The construction plan for Guilin Airport was initiated to supplement the older, overwhelmed Guilin Qifengling Airport. It was designed in the early 1990s and officially opened in 1996 to the public. The location has incorporated many environmental-friendly practices contributing to the attainment of numerous respective accolades.
