Elati is a picturesque village set in the Pindus mountains. A haven for nature lovers, the village combines traditional Greek charm with a stunning alpine setting. Atmospheric cafes and tavernas dot the central square and offer open-air seating where you can savour authentic Greek cuisine and enjoy the mountain views. The square is a hub of activity and hosts markets, festivals and traditional music concerts throughout the year.
Hiking trails wind through Pindus National Park and immerse you in the natural beauty of the region. Walk through sun-dappled black pine forests and discover hidden waterfalls and viewpoints. The park is one of the only places in Greece where you can spot Eurasian brown bears in their natural habitat. Birders arrive to tick off rare species like the golden eagle, shore lark and great grey shrike.
Elati transforms into a snowy wonderland in the winter. Hit the slopes at the nearby Pertouli Ski Centre and enjoy family-friendly skiing and snowboarding. Warm up with a glass of “rakomelo" grape brandy back in the village.
