One of the busiest airports in Latin America, El Dorado International Airport lies north of Bogota’s city centre. It’s the most important airport in Colombia and the main hub for Avianca airlines, with two terminals servicing international and domestic flight routes.
Check-in at either Terminal 1 or Terminal 2 (“Puente Aéreo”), which is used exclusively for Avianca’s domestic flights. Terminal 1 services all international destinations and boasts three airline lounges, numerous retail stores, cafes and a food court.
Shop for perfume, liquor and cosmetics at one of the duty-free stores or pick up Colombian crafts, jewellery and fashion accessories. You can relax in the departures lounge while taking advantage of the complimentary Wi-Fi. Currency exchange counters, ATMs and car rental desks are also available.
Getting there
El Dorado International Airport is a 20-minute drive from the historic centre of Bogota, with taxi stands positioned outside the arrivals area. Public buses also service the airport, while a shuttle bus travels between the two terminal buildings.
