Come evening, head to the Village of Baytowne Wharf, a 15-minute drive east of Destin. This family-friendly area is akin to a small village and is packed with enticing restaurants, boutique shops and an outdoor amphitheater. The Adventure Land playground is an exciting destination for the kids, while the live music and laser maze will keep the entire family entertained.
Destin is known for its array of water-based adventures, and those eager to head out on the ocean can take a dolphin tour from the harbor. Alternatively, you can hire jet skis, stand-up paddleboards or kayaks to explore the area at your leisure.
Getting around Destin
Northwest Florida Regional Airport and Pensacola International Airport are just over an hour away from Destin. The harbor and boardwalk can be explored on foot, while the city and nearby attractions are best reached by car.
