Enjoy sun-drenched days and fiery sunsets in Dar Bouazza. The lively beachside neighbourhood is a stone’s throw from Casablanca. It’s a great place to escape the crowds and experience Morocco like a local. Bask on the gold sand, splash in the gently rolling waves and enjoy the Moroccan sunshine.
Restaurants dot the coast and serve tasty food, accompanied by beautiful ocean views. Claim a table and order Moroccan classics like fragrant “tagine” stews served on a bed of fluffy couscous. Branch out and try dishes like ‘bissara” fava bean stew and “makouda” potato fritters served with lemon wedges and a spoon of harissa.
Local shops sell hand-painted ceramics, beaded jewellery and woven baskets. The vibe is local and laid-back, unlike some of the bustling bazaars you’ll find in Casablanca. You’ll be tempted by stalls selling treats like “maamoul” date cookies and baklava soaked in a sweet honey syrup.
Spend the day at Tamaris Aquaparc, one of the biggest water parks in Morocco. Cool off in the huge wave pool and speed down colourful racing slides. There are sun loungers and umbrellas to rent, plus kiosks where you can buy ice-cold drinks.
