About Baliuag

Serving as an important educational and entertainment hub in the sprawling metropolis of Metro Manila, Baliuag has grown from its agricultural roots into a major commercial district. Its orchards and farms have given way to residential barangays and large shopping malls, together with its own university.

The Baliuag Museum and Library is a great place to start and gain a better understanding of Baliuag’s historical and cultural heritage. It’s set within an elegant Spanish Colonial-era mansion and includes an exhibit detailing the first election which took place in the Philippines in 1899.

History enthusiasts can take a walk to admire the elaborate facade of the St. Augustine Parish Church that stands adjacent to the impressive Glorietta Fountain. You can also step inside the Santo Cristo Church and admire its exquisite whitewashed interior, situated on the edge of the Baliuag Memorial Cemetery.

If you need to cool off during the hot summer months, you can head to the Galilee Wonderland Park which lies just across the Angat River. There is a range of themed pools to suit all ages, including the Sea of Thalassa and Nile River pools, complete with artificial waves.

Getting there
