Renowned as a thermal spa centre, Amneville lies along the Moselle River between Metz and Thionville. It’s home to numerous spa and treatment facilities where you can pamper yourself, as well as family-friendly attractions that include an aquarium, a forest adventure park and one of the biggest zoos in Europe.
Things to do in Amnéville
No visit to Amneville is complete without indulging at one of its spa centres, which include the whirlpools and steam baths of Thermapolis. At Villa Pompeii, you can relax in a Roman temple-inspired setting adorned with colourful frescoes, mosaics and columns. In addition to saunas, steam rooms and baths, it offers a range of treatments that include massages, scrubs and body wraps.
The Amneville Zoo is considered one of the finest in Europe and provides a home to around 2,000 animals representing 360 species. It is particularly renowned for its big cats and is one of the few zoos in France where you can see gorillas and orangutans. You can get up close to crocodiles, giraffes and polar bears, then experience one of the zoo’s birds of prey in action at Eagle Park.
You can ski throughout the year at Amneville’s Snowhall, an indoor ski slope that stretches 620 metres in length. Snowboarders can challenge themselves on the pipes and jumps while young guests will love the downhill toboggan area. The Snowhall has a full range of equipment for rent and there’s a snack bar where you can enjoy food and drinks while watching all of the action.
