Chaplin’s World celebrates the life and legacy of the famous British entertainer. The museum occupies the handsome Neoclassical manor where Charlie Chaplin once lived and features interactive exhibits on his film career and family life. Swiss-owned food and beverage giant Nestlé has been based in Vevey since the 1800s. Discover the legacy of the iconic brand at Alimentarium, a family-friendly museum that occupies an enormous lakeside manor. It’s instantly recognisable by the larger-than-life silver fork sculpture poking out the water. Join a guided tour of the museum, take part in cooking workshops and enjoy a picnic in the grassy waterside gardens.
A scenic funicular whisks you from the Vevey town centre up the 1,080-metre-high Mont Pelerin in just over 10 minutes. Enjoy sweeping views over Lake Geneva and the surrounding vineyards. For even better views, ride the glass elevator to the summit. The additional 65 metres of heigh unlocks spectacular vistas across the Swiss Alps.
From atmospheric restaurants tucked away in the Old Town to stylish lakefront bistros, there are plenty of places to wine and dine in Vevey. Moitié-moitié, a rich and creamy fondue made with two different types of cheese, is a local specialty.
Getting around Vevey
Pedestrian-friendly Vevey is compact and easy to get around on foot. The town is a 25-minute drive from Lausanne and one hour from Geneva. Vevey Train Station is located in the town centre and offers regular connections to Geneva and Lausanne. Geneva International Airport is a one-hour drive away.
