Things to do in Varkaus
To gain insight into local culture, visit the Museum of Mechanical Music, one of the most unique museums in Finland. This museum contains the biggest collection of mechanical musical instruments in all of the Nordic regions, including the world’s largest orchestrion and Amadeus Street organ.
For stunning city views, head up to the Varkaus Water Tower Terrace. Have a drink at the top of the observation deck, sit back and relax in the sun chairs and soak up the natural surroundings and beautiful lake below.

The nearest major airport to Varkaus is Kuopio Airport, located less than 100 kilometers away. Taxis and cars are the most common forms of transit around the city, but you can also explore on foot. Local buses can also connect you to nearby cities.
