Things to do in Ulju-gun
Ganjeolgot Cape marks the easternmost tip of the Korean Peninsula and promises spectacular sunrises throughout the year. Octagon-shaped Ganjeolgot Lighthouse is one of the most photographed attractions in Ulju-gun and commands fantastic views over the East Sea.
Gold sand and cobalt-blue water make Jinha Beach one of the best in the region. Sunbathe on the sand, swim out to the offshore island and enjoy lunch at one of the waterfront seafood restaurants. When the breeze is up, Jinha Beach is popular with kite surfers.
Sinbulsan Mountain soars over the region and is popular with hikers. Challenging trails wind up to the summit and treat you to sweeping views over the surrounding forests, valleys and fields. Jakgwaecheon is another popular recreation area set in a lush forest, with the soaring Yeongnam Alps forming a picturesque backdrop. Enjoy a picnic on the banks of the stream and cool off in the crystalline water. You’ll notice many of the rocks lining the stream are engraved with names of Korean poetry contest champions.
Discover the centuries-old tradition of pottery making in Oegosan Onggi Village. The village is dotted with quaint shops where you can buy handmade homewares, tea sets and kimchi pots. Take part in a hands-on workshop and admire one of the largest collections of earthenware pottery in the world at the Ulsan Onggi Museum.

Rental cars offer the freedom to explore Ulju-gun at your own pace. Taxis are a fast and affordable way to get around. The region is a 45-minute drive from Busan and 1.5 hours from Daegu.
