Bharat Tea Plantation is one of the largest producers in the Cameron Highlands and supplies tea to some of the most famous companies in the world. Explore the trails that wind through the lush plantation before heading to the café for tea and scones slathered with cream and strawberry jam. You’ll find several strawberry farms within a short drive of Tanah Rata, most offering berry picking and on-site cafes.
The Mossy Forest is one of the most popular hiking destinations in the Cameron Highlands. Take it slow on the wooden boardwalk that winds past moss-covered trees or get adventurous and explore trails that take you deeper into the forest.
MARDI Agro Technology Park sprawls across 42 hectares and is filled with gardens and greenhouses. Admire more than 40 varieties of roses and stroll through orchards filled with citrus, apple and persimmon trees. Venture further afield to visit butterfly farms and apiaries.
On weekends, the Golden Hills Night Market will tempt you with a variety of traditional Malaysian dishes. Try local specialties like satay skewers, spicy laksa and “rojak” salad tossed with a spicy peanut dressing. It’s also a great place to stock up on fresh produce, including strawberries, honey and tea.

Taxis are a fast and affordable way to get around, while buses connect Tanah Rata with major destinations across Malaysia, including Kuala Lumpur.
