Things to do in Sremska Kamenica
Built in the 18th century by a wealthy Serbian family, Dvorac Marcibanji-Karačonji manor will captivate you with its soaring Doric columns. Stroll around the gardens to admire the beautiful mature trees and historic sculptures of lions and sphinxes.
Kamenički Park is set on the banks of the Danube and is a green sanctuary. Enjoy a picnic on the grass and stretch your legs on the woodland trails and riverside promenade. The park is dotted with majestic oak trees, some more than 100 years old.
Zmajev Muzej occupies a charming historic building and celebrates the legacy of one of Serbia’s most beloved poets. Exhibits cover the life and works of Jovan Jovanović Zmaj, who is best known for his children’s poems.
Sremska Kamenica is an excellent base for visiting Novi Sad, one of Serbia’s signature cities. Mighty Petrovaradin Fortress watches over the city and is one of the biggest military strongholds in Europe. In the town centre you’ll find leafy parks, al fresco cafes and narrow laneways lined with bars and restaurants.
Getting around Sremska Kamenica
Sremska Kamenica is pedestrian-friendly and easy to get around on foot. From Kamenički Park, you can walk to the Novi Sad city centre in around 45 minutes. Local buses are a fast and affordable way to get around. Sremska Kamenica is a 25-minute drive from Novi Sad Airport and one hour from Nikola Tesla Airport in Belgrade.
