Things to do in Småland
The Swedish Glass Museum pays homage to the region’s crystal making history. Inside, you can enjoy exhibitions on the works of Kosta Boda, explore 40,000 pieces in the glass collection and read through the collected archival documents that span the past 80 years.
The region is renowned for its vast green spaces and parks, including Store Mosse National Park. Here you can enjoy hiking trails, cycling paths or canoeing. Alternatively, you can explore the forested area on horseback or spend the morning fishing by the lake.
For a Swedish adventure, head to Little Rock Lake in the south of the district. The lake is home to the largest zipline in Europe, where you can fly over the forest and streams traveling at 70 kilometers as you enjoy an aerial view of the beautiful park.
Getting there
Jonkoping Airport sits just under a two-hour drive north of the city, while Copenhagen Airport is three hours away. To get around the Smaland region, you can make use of the cross-country trains and buses or hire a car to drive the scenic roads at your leisure.
