Located just south of Port Dickson, Si Rusa is a coastal town overlooking the Malacca Strait. As a popular seaside getaway destination, it’s fringed by white sandy beaches and home to plenty of family-friendly attractions and one of the oldest lighthouses in Malaysia.
Things to do in Si Rusa
One of Si Rusa’s most famous landmarks is the Cape Rachado Lighthouse, a whitewashed tower that has a history dating back to 16th-century Portuguese rule. The current lighthouse was constructed in 1863 and is accessible via a spiral staircase while the surrounding woodland is popular with birdwatchers. Hiking trails connect the lighthouse to several beaches, including aptly named Monkey Bay.
On the northern side of the cape is Blue Lagoon, a palm-fringed sweep of white sand that provides a setting for swimming, kayaking and water sports. On the other side is quieter Pantai Cermin, which is backed by mangroves and a tract of rainforest. Further east lies Pantai Telok Pelandok where local fishermen can be seen hauling in the day’s catch.
Travelling with kids? They’ll love spending a day at the Ehsan Water Park, which is packed with water-themed attractions for all ages. It’s the largest water park in Negeri Sembilan, with a children’s playground, a giant inflatable slide and a leisure pool among its facilities. Relax beneath the Grand Waterfall, watch live sporting matches on the TV screens or shop for gifts in the souvenir store.
