The Roman Bridge is an iconic landmark in Salamanca and was constructed in the 1st century AD. The bridge is considered a national monument, boasting local art that represents the city’s ancient origins.
Salamanca is primarily a university town and its vibrant atmosphere is helped by the local students. A visit to the University of Salamanca grounds is a must, as it’s considered one of the most beautiful campuses in the world. Founded in the 15th century, the buildings have a unique facade and boast Plateresque-style architecture.
Getting around Salamanca
Madrid-Barajas Adolfo Suarez Airport is a two-hour drive east of Salamanca, connected via buses. Salamanca can be explored entirely on foot, thanks to the attractions being relatively close, while buses and taxis are also available.
