The Edison Birthplace Museum celebrates the legacy of Port Clinton's most famous son. It's housed in the small brick home where Edison once lived and is filled with exhibits showcasing his best-known inventions, including the incandescent electric light bulb and phonograph.
Lake Erie is studded with pristine offshore islands, some designated as state parks. The sandy beach on the northern side of Kelleys Islands State Park is a great place to soak up the sunshine, explore scenic walking trails and check out ancient glacial grooves carved into the limestone 18,000 years ago.

Downtown Port Clinton is easy to get around on foot, while ferries run to offshore islands and other shoreline towns. You can arrive by car or boat, while Erie Ottawa International Airport is a 10-minute drive away and Cleveland is a 1.5-hour drive east.
