Petaling Jaya is a small town on the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur. This family-friendly destination has an array of shopping facilities and boasts a vibrant restaurant scene that rivals the country's capital.
Things to do in Petaling Jaya
Sunway Pyramid Shopping Mall is home to designer stores and boutique shops, a multi level venue considered one of the largest in the country and the only mall to boast a year-round ice-skating rink. The mall takes on an Egyptian theme with a giant sphinx that stands at the entrance and is packed with entertainment, including a bowling alley, nightclub and movie theatre.
Cool off at Sunway Lagoon, an exhilarating water park spread out across 32 hectares. You can enjoy wave pools, a 360-degree revolving pirate ship and a manmade surfing beach, while adrenaline junkies can take to the Congo Challenge and speed down the six-lane slide or ride the Grand Canyon Rapids down the lazy river.
For indoor fun, head to Jump Street Trampoline Park. Children and adults can bounce in the enclosed trampoline pit or try their hand at rock climbing on the climbing wall at Xero Gravity Centre.
For a dose of culture, head to the Thai Chetawan Temple. This famous Buddhist site dates back to 1956 and features Thai-style architecture. Admire the gold leaves, multi coloured glass tiles and tiered roof that make up this impressive structure.
