Parque das Nações is a small parish in Lisbon, Portugal situated in the northeastern realm along the Tagus estuary. The value of this area stems from its utilisation during the World Exhibition in the 1990s. The exhibition equated to complete urban renewal and social redefinition of Parque das Nacoes, leaving prominent attractions and increased public interest in its wake.
Popular activities in the area include shopping at the Vasco da Gama shopping mall and visiting the Oceanarium, one of the world’s biggest aquariums. The Marina Parque das Nações provides for nautical enterprises such as cruises, waterfront events, and bird watching. Cultural developments consist of the Camões Theatre where ballet performances can be seen as well as the Knowledge Museum, an interactive science museum.
Parque das Nações is situated five minutes from the Lisbon International Airport, making for incredibly easy access to the area. The metro station of Estaçao do Oriente services public transportation. Walking is a popular form of transit between points of interest.
Parque das Nações was developed from a combination of parts of the parishes of Santa Maria dos Olivais, Sacavém and Moscavide. The 1998 World Exhibition changed the entire atmosphere of the area into a leisure, commercial, and residential hotspot.
