Constructed in time for the 1952 Summer Olympics, the Olympia Terminal is a bustling dock in Helsinki’s South Harbour. It operates a regular passenger ship linking Helsinki to Stockholm and has a service desk for the Baltic Sea-based Tallink and Silja Line.
Watch the passenger ships coming and going from the Olympia Terminal, which was designed by architects Aarre Hytönen and Risto-Veikko Luukkonen. Its two cruise-ferry docks were renovated between 1989 and 1990 to enable them to handle larger ships and the terminal now hosts more than 1.5 million passengers every year.
Want to explore Helsinki? You can store your luggage in one of the small or large lockers at the Olympia Terminal and change your currency at the exchange house. If you’re waiting for a ship departure, hot drinks and light meals are available from Roberts Coffee, while the walking trails of Armi Ratias Park are just across the street.
Getting there
The Olympia Terminal is in Helsinki, around 10 minutes’ drive from the Helsinki Central Station and accessible from the Olympiaterminaali tram stop. Helsinki-Vantaa International Airport is 25 minutes away.
