Lying on the western end of Viti Levu, Nadi is a renowned family-friendly destination with high-end resorts and a beautiful coastal setting. From temples to beaches, eco-parks and handicraft markets, Nadi offers iconic Fijian life.
Things to do in Nadi
The famous Sri Siva Subramaniya Swami temple is hard to miss. Stop by this Dravidian-style Hindu temple to see colourful ceiling frescoes and wood-carved depictions of India’s most-cherished deities. Wander through the Garden of the Sleeping Giant, a vast plantation with more than 2,000 types of Asian orchids and Cattleya hybrids.
Pick up souvenirs on Main Street, then head to the Handicraft Market for art, clothing and street musicians playing both Hindi and Fijian tunes. At Jet Point shopping complex, you can experience some of the nightlife at Ice Bar and Tantra Hookah Lounge.
Follow Narewa Road north to reach the resorts and golf courses of Denarau Island. Denarau Marina is dotted with a range of boutique shops and outdoor cafes. Boats depart the marina for excursions to the Mamanuca and Yasawa islands, where snorkelling, scuba diving, ziplining and hiking are popular.
Denarau Beach bustles with activity, from watersports to windsurfing and beach volleyball. Kids love the giant inflatable Big Bula Water Park with waterslides, wave surfing and obstacle courses. For a quiet stretch of sand, head to either Wailoaloa Beach or New Town Beach.
