Lorenskog Bygdemuseum occupies a historic barn in the heart of the town centre. Check out exhibits on the town’s farming heritage and enjoy a bowl of homemade soup and a slice of rye bread at the café. Kids love meeting the flock of resident chickens.
Built in medieval times, Lorenskog Kirke is one of the oldest buildings in the town. Stroll around the grass-covered graveyard dotted with centuries-old tombstones, some of the oldest dating back to the 1600s. A short walking trail starts in the churchyard and leads up to Olavskilden lookout, where you can enjoy sweeping views over the surrounding countryside. Nearby is the Elveparken recreation area laced with scenic hiking trails.
Ride the bus from Lorenskog to Oslo and spend the day exploring the Norwegian capital. Admire centuries-old warships at the Viking Ship Museum and get lost in the whimsical Vigeland Sculpture Park. Akershus Fortress commands an elevated setting on the waterfront and has been protecting the city since the Middle Ages.
