Things to do in Ko Kradan
Ko Kradan is the definition of a tropical paradise, with sugar-white beaches fringed by swaying coconut palms. Bask on the sand, swim in the crystalline Andaman Sea and rent a snorkel to explore the vibrant coral reef just offshore. At the southern end of the main beach is a signposted trail that leads you across the rocks to Hat Sunset, a beautiful beach with spectacular views.
Ko Kradan is set within Hat Chao Mai National Park and is a great base for exploring the marine reserve. Boat excursions depart from Ko Kradan and take you to Emerald Cave, a hidden lagoon accessed by a 20-metre-long tunnel. Renting a kayak is a fun way to circumnavigate the island and discover secret beaches. The island also has its own dive centre where you can join scuba trips.
Small resorts dot the beach, most with laid-back bars and restaurants spilling onto the sand. Enjoy pancakes and fresh fruit smoothies for breakfast, then head down to the water for a dip. For dinner, enjoy freshly caught seafood and traditional Thai curries.
Getting around Ko Kradan
Ko Kradan is easy to get around on foot, with a footprint of just four square kilometres. Longtail boats operate between Ko Kradan and the mainland, as well as neighbouring islands such as Koh Ngai and Koh Mook. Speed boats are a fast way to travel between Ko Kradan and Koh Lanta or Koh Lipe.
