Translating as “Fish River”, Kalajoki is a coastal town in Finland’s Northern Ostrobothnia region. It was first mentioned in the 16th century when it was an important market town and a trade hub for the local tar industry. Today, it’s the region’s sandy beaches, birdwatching and adventure pursuits that attract visitors.
