Things to do in Gorey
Snap the perfect photo at the Wexford Lavender Farm. Stroll through fields carpeted with bright purple flowers and shop for soaps, essential oils and other lavender-infused products at the gift store. The old stable houses an atmospheric café where you can enjoy scones, jam and cream.
Step back in time at Wells House & Gardens. The elegant Victorian manor is set in beautiful gardens and offers activities for the whole family. Guided tours take you behind the scenes of the manor and into stately rooms furnished with gleaming antiques. Stroll through the formal terrace gardens and look for fairy doors, wishing wells and tiny castles on kid-friendly woodland trails. The miniature farm is home to pygmy goats, rabbits and other animals.
Entertain the kids at Kia Ora Miniature Farm. As well as barnyard favourites like cows, pigs and sheep, you can meet exotic animals like alpacas, emus and macaws. Take a spin on the go-kart track, navigate your way through the maze and climb into the driver’s seat of a full-size fire engine.
Head to the coast and enjoy a sun-drenched day on Ballymoney Beach. Gold sand and clean water have won the beach Blue Flag status. Outside of summer, the beach is a great place to hunt for pebbles and shells.
